Our studio is built on a balance of strong artistic foundations and creative freedom. Students are guided through a process of planning, creating, and reflecting, allowing their work to develop with depth and meaning over time and of course a great place to make new friends!
Note: All term enrollment students receive a visual diary to record ideas and planning. Art smocks and all materials are provided. Projects are completed on either stretched canvas or high quality canvas paper, allowing students to create more refined art works that they will be proud of.

This class is designed for teens who want to build strong skills, explore new techniques, and develop their own artistic style in a supportive studio environment. No prior skills or experience are needed, students are supported at their own level.
Students work across drawing and painting, developing advanced skills in shading, texture, depth, perspective, proportion, and colour mixing. They learn practical techniques such as working from references and layering colour for richer detail. Through structured projects including still life, observational and experimental drawing, students refine their technical ability while exploring their own ideas. Alongside this, they are introduced to important historical and contemporary artists, helping them understand different approaches and draw inspiration from a broader artistic context.
A range of materials is explored, including charcoal, watercolour, acrylic, and oil painting. Students are also encouraged to work beyond traditional canvas, experimenting with surfaces such as wood panels and learning how to prepare and prime their own materials.
Classes are kept small to allow for close guidance and individual support, while still encouraging independence, patience, and thoughtful creative development.
Whether building a portfolio or simply enjoying art, this class offers a calm and inspiring space for teens to grow in confidence, skill, and creative expression.
